Seminar Held at I. Arabaev KSU as Part of the Erasmus+ GREEN KG Project, Focusing on Developing Digital and Environmental Education Models in Kyrgyzstan

A seminar at I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University as part of the Erasmus+ GREEN KG project «Digital and Green Universities for Sustainable Development in Kyrgyzstan» took place on November 14, 2024. The event, dedicated to Science Day, brought together representatives from leading universities in the country who are committed to advancing digital and environmental educational approaches.

The seminar aimed to introduce participants to cutting-edge methods and technologies in the fields of digital and environmental education and to discuss opportunities for implementing these approaches in Kyrgyz universities. The seminar was opened by KSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Raushanbek Zainiev. Project Coordinator Janara Baitugolova from K. Dikambaev Diplomatic Academy of MFA KR presented the main goals and achievements of GREEN KG project. She emphasized the importance of the initiative for the sustainable development of the country and reported that since the project’s launch in November 2023 to August 2024, significant progress has been made, including organizing key events and expanding the network of partners. Head of the International Relations Department, Rahat Rai kyzy; Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Tourism, Gulnaz Jalilova; and Head of the Information Technology Center, Joldosh Mokeshev also shared updates on their departments’ contributions.

The seminar also provided a platform to discuss educational initiatives developed within the project. Representatives from the Institute of Natural Sciences and Tourism introduced a new course on green economy, which is planned to be implemented next semester and, subsequently, integrated into all university programs, covering various disciplines. The event concluded with a tour of the new Green and Digital Office, where participants discussed opportunities for further cooperation and expansion of green and digital initiatives for a sustainable future in Kyrgyzstan.
